Solmeyea is a Scale up company operating at the intersection of Bio-Tech, Climate-Tech and Food-Tech, dedicated to turning captured CO₂ into valuable bio-based products. As a matter of fact it is the first company globally delivering to the food industry safe and nutritious, Carbon-negative food proteins already approved by EFSA and FDA.
Founded in 2019, the company uses a patented CO2-Bio Upgrading platform converting Scope 1 CO2 into sustainable ingredients such as organic acids, proteins, pigments, and oils for use in various industries such as food, feed, cosmetics and pharma. Main task(s) in SOLRESS
In SOLRESS, Solmeyea is responsible for scaling up organic acids production using novel bioreactor designs allowing continuous operation and increased productivity. It will do so in its 1200 sqm Demonstration scale facility operating at TRL8. The process will use different waste feedstocks as fermentation substrate to increase circularity of the overall value chain.
